Higher Education Commission, often traveling to Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville for
statewide scoops. Also aggresively reported on eight local colleges, including the University
of the South and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
• Covered the tourism industry in Chattanooga, the flooring industry in North Georgia and
four major trucking companies based in the region.
• Helped create the paper’s first online landing page for a series of stories on the longhaul
trucking industry. Traveled with a truck driver for one week across the country.
• Filmed and edited video and recorded and edited audio to supplement stories.
• Voiced audio segments, reading daily headlines for the local radio station.
